First date

After what seemed like months of back and forth chit-chat, Amor finally manned up to ask me out on a first date (of course it was actually the reverse). Our initial rendezvous transpired at a small speak easy called Angel Share in the East Village. Quaint, quiet, romantic and a great place to get Amor liquored up while still looking classy while doing so. 

Once caught in my unbreakable web of insta-love© and infatuation, it was time to test her cool factor (or nerd factor depending on the opinion of whoever is reading this). I took Amor to a retro spot nearby, Barcade. The name should be obvious as to the brand of entertainment but if not it's a bar with 80's & 90's arcade games. A few beers in she was destroying me at Street Fighter II so I had to come up with plan B fast to save any pride I had left… karaoke.

The final destination of that first magical night was a small karaoke joint, Sing Sing. Amor was less than impressed with my 80's serenades of classics like Duran Duran and Simple Minds. Her rebuttal was a sharp-tounged rendition of "Before He Cheats" by Carrie Underwood. I assume that was a warning. 

We would go on to spend the next 4 days together (which also meant I stopped her from going on a previously scheduled date with some geezer) so needless to say it was a pretty awesome start.

And then there was three

In late January 2016, Amor was to embark on her solo trip to India. We had pretty much become inseparable at that point. To ease the blow of her departure, Amor brought home a new addition to the family… enter Mr. Kitty. 

Meeting her family

One Saturday morning Amor asked if I'd like to meet her daughter Lovelie for dim sum. When I met her, it didn't take long to realize she was a personality clone of me. I don't buy into the whole astrology thing, but it's kinda crazy how similar us two libras are. First family member meet-n-greet… check.

Meeting his friends & family

Unlike me, Shawn has tons of friends and a very close relationship with his family. The love he has for them was indicative of how good friends we were to become.

His friends and family welcomed me as if I were one of their own, I felt at home.

Iceland wedding

We were fortunate enough to be invited to a good friend's wedding in the beautiful country of Iceland. This was our first big trip together and between all the delicious lamb-dogs and majestic waterfalls, I realized how awesome and easy-going Amor was as a travel buddy. One side note- She absolutely hates the cold!
